Meet Steve

Steve was born in Provo, Utah, but his family moved to Cedar City when he was two years old. His father's side of the family was among the original settlers of Cedar City, and aside from serving a two-year LDS mission in Australia, he has been a lifelong resident of the community. Throughout Steve’s upbringing, he was mentored by exceptional individuals and benefited greatly from the support and guidance of local organizations. These formative experiences instilled in him a deep desire to give back and make a meaningful difference in the lives of others.

While attending Southern Utah University (SUU), Steve married Gena Walker, a native of Cedar City. Together, they have four children—three sons and one daughter and have loved raising their family in Cedar City.

Steve earned a Bachelor of Science in Social Studies with a minor in coaching from Southern Utah University (SUU). He began his career teaching and coaching girls’ basketball and volleyball at Canyon View High School. After the birth of their first son, the couple decided Gena would stay home with their children, prompting him to transition into real estate. Having worked in construction since the age of 14 and with experience in buying and renovating homes, the move to real estate felt like a natural fit. He obtained his real estate license in 2005.

Though he left the classroom, Steve remained committed to making a positive impact. Helping individuals and families navigate their most significant financial decision—buying or selling a home—proved fulfilling and meaningful. Over the past 20 years, he has assisted more than 1,000 clients, many of whom have become close friends. His approach has always been centered on the belief that putting people first leads to lasting success.

Steve founded his brokerage company approximately three years into his real estate career. Today, it is one of the largest in Cedar City, with nearly 80 agents and branch offices in St. George, Kanab, and Northern Utah. With his extensive background in real estate and development, he brings a unique perspective to preserving Cedar City's character while fostering a vibrant downtown that welcomes residents and visitors alike.
